Punk rockers vs. Nazis. That’s largely the plot of 2015’s Green Room . After playing a bar that turns out to be a nazi bar, a band of punk rockers witness a murder in their green room and are forced to fight their way out of the bar. This is a 95 minute tour de force of horror and intrigue anchored by terrific performances, especially from the late Anton Yelich and Captain Jean-Luc Picard himself, Sir Patrick Stewart (as a neo nazi)! It’s dark, brutal, hard to watch at times, and one of the best achievements in indie film making this decade. Plus, it makes great use of my favorite Dead Kennedy’s song, “Nazi Punks Fuck Off”.
