20. Brothers- The Black Keys (2010)

The Black Keys have been one of the best bands in alternative rock since their debut The Big Come Up back in 2002. Throughout the 2000s the band continued to release consistently great albums that all had at least one radio ready single and saw increasing popularity with each record. However, it wasn’t until 2010’s double platinum record Brothers that the band broke through to being one of the biggest bands on the planet. The Danger Mouse produced record spawned the singles “Tighten Up” and “Howlin For You”, arguably the two biggest songs in the Akron duo’s entire catalogue. Everything you love about The Black Keys is here, just bigger. Looking for killer hooks? Got em in spades. Want a bit of a slower blues throwback? More than a couple are here. Need a garage rock single? Checked in spades. The recording sessions were reportedly pretty contentious and like a lot of stories about classic rock and roll records, it helped The Black Keys produce the best work of their careers and one of the best albums of the decade.
